In this year 2020 (now 2021) the “XVI Latin American Regional Meeting of Forensic Toxicology” is organized in Ecuador, and it will take place in the capital of the country, the beautiful city of Quito.

Quito is a metropolis located in the center of the world and more than 2,800 meters above sea level, which makes it the second highest capital in the world, where you live the experience of being in two hemispheres at the same time.

One of the most significant aspects of this Congress is that for the first time it has Ecuador as its headquarters, which has generated great expectations in the local toxicological guild, who will have the opportunity to share experiences and exchange knowledge with TIAFT members worldwide.

The International Association of Forensic Toxicologist TIAFT, has about 1,500 members from all regions of the world who are actively involved in analytical toxicology or allied areas, respecting ethical principles. The objectives of this association are to promote cooperation and coordination of efforts among the members and encourage research in forensic toxicology.

We are waiting for you in this important event from November 22 to 25, 2021: “The Toxicology in the Middle of the World”.

Dear colleagues and delegates,

It is our great pleasure to welcome you to Istanbul for the 4th Regional International Association of Forensic Toxicologists (TIAFT) Meeting in Turkey between 31st August–2nd September 2020 (now 2021) on behalf of the Turkish Society of Forensic and Clinical Toxicology and TIAFT.

After Izmir, Antalya and Cappadocia, this year’s venue is legendary Istanbul. Istanbul is not only Turkey's the most developed and largest city but also is full of ancient heritage and contemporary developments with the endless variety that fascinates the visitors, along with excellent transport links.

This meeting, with an innovative and forward-looking scientific agenda, will create opportunities for the forensic scientists, criminal specialists, police, lawyers, pharmacologists and toxicologists to share the latest research findings and to collaborate in view of recent advancements on the forensic toxicology. Participants will be able to present their experiences, explore new directions and debate topics in forensic toxicology and related forensic science.

The meeting will be complemented by an exciting social program to experience the history, culture and hospitality of our host venue. Istanbul has a mild lovely Mediterranean climate at this period-beginning of the September, so this will be an opportunity to see colleagues and make new friends where Europe and Asia meet. Dear Colleagues and Friends,

The Chinese Academy of Forensic Science (AFS) has the honour and the pleasure to host the Regional TIAFT meeting in Shanghai, China. Through the 2019 Symposium on Forensic Theory and Practice & TIAFT Regional Meeting during May 22-25, 2019 in China, a wide variety of theoretical and practical topics and technological advances within the field of forensic science will be addressed. The TIAFT Board members will present and share their expertise on current and traditional topics such as new psychoactive substances (NPS), postmortem toxicology, hair analysis, microsampling, and toxicological interpretation at a forensic level, among others. This meeting will be an opportunity to share experiences and propose strategies and changes for the future of the Forensic and Analytical Toxicology.

May is a wonderful season in Shanghai. We sincerely hope this event will be a good opportunity to spend a pleasant time with our colleagues from all over the world, to share our mutual interest in scientific topics, to see Shanghai’s beautiful landscapes, and sense and experience the cordiality of Shanghai people—as well as the AFS. Dear colleagues, students and people interested in this event:

With great joy and enthusiasm I share the details of the XIV TIAFT Latin-American Regional Meeting -Ist International Meeting on NPS & Drug design, to be held at the City of Buenos Aires in the last days of November, 2018.

During these four days, actualization courses will be given, as well as plenary conferences, round tables, exhibition of works, and social events (including a welcome reception, half day excursion, and final Gala dinner).

This meeting will be an opportunity to share experiences and propose strategies and changes for the future of the Forensic and Analytical Toxicology. We are presently living in a unique moment involving the advance of the New Psychoactive Drugs (NPS) and Designer drugs (some already included in control lists) that are coming back and creating problematic scenarios with their consumption.

International guests, experts of every field, will give us their vision and advice on how to face this enormous problem that is taking place in our region.

I hope to share with you great moments in Buenos Aires, as we have been doing since our first meeting in La Plata, back in 2005.

Dear Colleagues and Friends,

We warmly invite you to participate at the 3rd Regional TIAFT Meeting in Turkey between 18th–20th of October 2018 on behalf of the Turkish Society of Forensic and Clinical Toxicology and The International Association of Forensic Toxicologists-TIAFT. After İzmir and Antalya, this year's meeting will be held in Cappadocia which is a unique region in the world formed 60 million years ago; human settlement dates back to Paleolithic era.

A "Drug Abuse and Crime Symposium" will be held on the first day of the meeting. The meeting will create opportunities for forensic scientists, criminal specialists, police, lawyers, pharmacologists and toxicologists to share the latest research findings and to combine recent knowledge on the forensic toxicology field. Participants will be able to present their experiences, explore new directions and debate topics in the field of forensic toxicology and related forensic science. Decisions taken within the scope of the anti-drug effort in our country and activities planned to be done will be discussed in the direction of today's developments.

The science will be complemented by a social program to allow participants to experience the history, culture and hospitality of Cappadocia. The Cappadocia Region is located in the center of the Anatolian Region of Turkey; its valley, canyon, hills and unusual rock formations were created as a result of the eroding rains and winds of thousands of years, and a level, lava-covered plain is located between the volcanic mountains.

Almost 25 years after the last TIAFT meeting in Greece, the Department of Forensic Medicine and Toxicology of the University of Athens has the honor and the pleasure to welcome the TIAFT Board in Greece. Through the 1st Regional TIAFT meeting in Athens, they will offer the opportunity to local toxicologists but also to scientists from other disciplines--such as forensic pathologists, police experts, lawyers, hospital doctors, pharmacists and pharmacologists--to become familiar with the latest developments and trends in the field of Forensic Toxicology. Through a rich two-day scientific program (16 and 17 of May 2018), the TIAFT Board members will present and share their expertise on current and traditional topics while the participants will have the opportunity to discuss with them and explore the new directions of Forensic Toxicology.

The venue of the Meeting is the Central Building of the University of Athens in the center of the city. It is walking distance from most hotels, next to a Metro station and in close proximity to renowned historical sites.

We are confident that this 1st Regional TIAFT meeting will boost the further development of Forensic Toxicology, not only in Greece, but also in the whole Balkan and Mediterranean area.

The XIII edition of the Latin-American Regional Congress of Forensic Toxicology is organized by the Colombian members of TIAFT. This event attempts to strengthen cooperative bonds through the promotion of investigation, knowledge and the sharing of experiences from the different forensic realities they have lived throughout Latin-America. Parallel to this event the II Young Latin-American Toxicology Researchers meeting will take place. This second gathering is intended to awaken the investigative spirit in the newer generations. On this occasion, we will be discussing topics such as new psychoactive substances (NPS), environmental toxicology, postmortem toxicology, and quality management at a forensic level, among others.

Colombia’s Coffee Triangle region, famously known as “Eje Cafetero”, was recently declared “Coffee Cultural Landscape of Colombia”, as inscribed on the World Heritage List by UNESCO. The triangle’s city of Calarca, also known as the Cacique’s (Chief’s) Village, will have the honour of hosting these two events November 14th to 17th 2017. The city’s organizing committee welcomes and invites all TIAFT members (Criminal Investigations Units, Controlled Drugs Labs, Sport’s Controlled Substances Labs, Forensic Toxicology Labs, Hospitals, Universities, etc.) to participate as speakers, be part of the forums and view the poster presenters.

And while you are there accept an invitation to enjoy the beautiful and unique country sites, its people’s charm, and the delightful taste of a good Colombian “tinto” (coffee).
