Seasons greetings and Happy Holidays

Dear Members,

The year is almost at an end. I would like to offer my sincere thanks to all members of TIAFT for their support of the association and hope you will all continue to be members in 2010. It has again been a fantastic year of the association with many more members signing up including a number from Brazil following the regional meeting in June in Porto Alegre and from Thailand following the board meeting in March.

I would like to wish all of you seasons greetings and for those of you having time-off from work and/or vacation - happy holidays.

I'm sure you have all seen the first Bulletin from the new editiors Drs Dimitri Gerostamoulos and Jochen Beyer. This was a great job - hopefully you all agree. They have many more good ideas for future editions and have also secured seven advertisers/sponsors. This will ensure we will again have four edtiions for the year without additional cost to TIAFT. As always anyone who has contributions please contact Dimitri or Jochen - they are always welcome. Thanks to those of you who have already contributed.

I hope to see as many of you as possible for the Bonn meeting. The organisers have already put together an exciting program.

The Egyptian Medico-Legal organization is holding its 4th International Conference for Forensic Science, titled "Modern Techniques in Forensic Science" to be held on April 20-22, 2010 in Cairo. There will be details on our web page and a link to the meeting web-site. Anyone wishing to attend would be most welcome.

The Analytical Unit at St George's University of London will be hosting a joint two day symposium with the London Toxicology Group in honour of Professor David W Holt to reflect his 40 year career researching drug use and abuse. The days are 16-17 April, 2010. Again see our web site for details.

Until next time, sincerely

Olaf Drummer
TIAFT President
